Finally our enforced stay in Roccella is at an end.
By pure chance we found an engineer, David Wroath of Wroath Marine from the Isle of Wight, here fixing another couple of lightening struck boats who not only spoke English but was fluent in B&G as well. The ordered equipment arrived this last weekend, has now been fitted and tested as of Wednesday 12 June we were seaworthy again!
Then we had to tun around doing last minute shopping, laundry and those niggly little jobs I have been leaving until tomorrow!! That and some passage planning and the watching the weather.
So, our weather looks good for Monday, the 17th, for a passage north east along the coast to Crotone. There we’ll lift out and jet wash the hull before heading off across the Gulf of Tranto to Galipoli before following the coast of Italy round to Bari. From there we’ll head off towards the island of Lastivo in Croatia where we will book in with the authorities.
We will then make our way to Trogir, near Split, to meet Solange who is coming out to see us on 11 July for a few days. Even as we are planning that our friends Graeme and Jayne in SCARLETT are telling us they are heading north from Corfu heading towards Venice, but will be around Trogir on 15 July as we drop Solange off!
And then we’ll also cross paths with Marco and Heloisa our new Brazilian friends in VENTO MACIO who are heading north from Montenegro.
So, with a farewell pizza and a relatively early night we’re ready to go ……
