We got back to Murter from Sukosan on Thursday evening, 1 August, went into Hramina Marina on Friday and had the leak on the pump fixed. We returned to the anchorage on Friday afternoon and settled down to sit out the approaching thunderstorms forecast for the weekend.
We ran the watermaker and by Saturaday evening it had failed again, the original problem, but not quite so severe. We were getting that Groundhog Day feeling. By Saturday evening the thunderstorms started and the winds were soon back up to 50 knots for most of the night. On Sunday morning the sun was out again and we decided to move our anchor position as a nearby boat had dragged a little bit closer to us than we were comfortable with. Theoretically they should have moved but there was had been no one on board since we arrived.
But things could have been worse. Ten miles north of here …….
On Monday we agreed with the engineer that the only thing left to do now was to replace the valve which was causing the problem. Monday was a Bank Holiday but by Wednesday the part was ordered and due to arrive in a week!
Also by Wednesday we had decided that Valeria needed to go home for a week to see her doctor. She left on the lunch time bus on Wednesday, heading for Split airport.
