Prinos (Ormos), Thassos, Greece

Prinos is the ferry terminal for Kavala and the large bay off the town is shallow and is likely only suitable as a fair weather anchorage.

The sea bed is sand and weed, adequate holding for our overnight stay in calm conditions.  The charted obstruction north of the ferry terminal does not appear to be there but we avoided it anyway.

It is hardly a picturesque place but there are tavernas ashore and a small supermarket close not too far from the beach.  You can land a tender at the south end of the beach close to the quayside.

A useful stop over for provisions or to drop off / pick up visitors from the ferry.

Sailing south ….
