Gaios is the main town on Paxos and it is our second visit. It is a small town and its harbour is built around the narrow channel that separates the town from the small island with a Venetian fort on it. It is a quaint little place and currently relatively quiet although it livens up in the evenings with locals . We are one of only three boats here!

We arrived on Monday, 14 June, after our quick visit to Antipaxos and decided to spend a couple of days on the town quay and wait out some forecast rain on Wednesday. There was no one collecting harbour dues and we figured we could use the time to do a couple of loads of washing and stock up on fresh veg.
On Thursday we’ll head back across to the mainland for the port of Parga, usually a busy party town. Hopefully we’ll be there without the noise. We’ll then have a look at a couple of anchorages on our way down to Preveza and the Gulf of Amvrakikos.
