From Uvala Sunj we set off around the island of Lopud heading for Lopud Town. We even managed to sail the last half of the trip into the anchorage.
Paul and Chanon had a wander ashore and an afternoon swimming and we went into town that evening for dinner at Restaurant Peggy, a small place above town with good sunset views. The meal was really nice and the sunset very dramatic and over dinner we decided that, instead of more island anchorages, we’d head down to Cavtat.
The following morning, Thursday, we set off south and motored directly passed Dubrovnik on our way. We plan to visit properly but we wouldn’t see the views from seaward. The town defences are very impressive.
By 2 pm we had anchored in the big bay east of Cavtat, Uvala Tiha, and went off in the tender to have a look around town then find a restaurant for dinner, it was our wedding anniversary after all.
Cavtat town quay is superyacht territory, but a walk along the quay did allow us to reconoitre the Customs and Immigration quay we’ll need to use when we leave Croatia in a few weeks.
Cavtat is a small town, quiet and picturesque. It is a good base from which to visit the busier, more hectic, Dubrovnik. And as the weather for Friday is good we planned to leave the boat at anchor and do just that.
